Letter From President SOrenson about being called 2x to this mission
Good Start of a New Mission Sunday Evening,
After these past few weeks and saying goodbye to so many good souls we love, we returned home from Halifax on Friday evening. I found myself up really early on Saturday morning reviewing some notes as Sister Sorensen prepared to participate in one of the YSA Conference Workshops on Saturday morning at the Longueuil Stake Center, where hundreds of Young Single Adults from all over Eastern Canada and the Northeast of the USA had come together for this 4-day YSA Conference.
As I was up way before the sun came up preapring for our workshop topic about the Hastening of the Work and the Gathering of Scattered Israel, I had a strong impression come unto my mind about you, the 63 Elders and 48 Sisters, that are part of the Canada Montreal Mission. That impression was this: "The 111 Missionaries have been called twice by the Lord to serve here, in this mission, the Canada Montreal Mission." I realized that every missionary who has served here in the Canada Montreal Mission and gone home before June 19th, and every missionary who will serve here in the Canada Montreal Mission and arrive after today, June 27th, will have been called to serve in the Canada Montreal Mission - once. However, each of you has had the blessing to be called "TWICE" to serve in this specific mission, the Canada Montreal Mission.
There is a reason you have each been called twice to serve here; the Lord needs you here. There are souls to be saved, friends to be found, invited, helped, and nurtured to come to the Savior and embrace His Amazing Grace and to find the help and healing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The wards and branches, and members, and new members need you here. Your companions, who you serve with, need you here. Sister Sorensen and I, need you here. Please Be Here.... Leave your nets...Be Obedient, Be Diligent, Be Happy, Find Joy in your efforts to be about your Missionary Purpose, and plead for your Savior's help.
"Jesus is the Way" Mosiah 3:17
Pray for miracles. Pray to find families. Pray specifically. Pray to find those who are willing to and can come worship with us in Sacrament Meeting.
Pray for His help to find ways to be kind and compassionate, looking for an opportunity to provide an unplanned act of kindness each day to those the Lord places in your path.
Pray every day in every prayer to find those who are willing to let God prevail in their lives. Those who are willing to make Him their highest priority and are willing to submit to His will, timing, and help.
Love you all and may the Lord bless you with those things that matter most, and may you find gratitude in your hearts every day for His Amazing Grace.
President and Sister Sorensen
