Soeur Miller week 18 (5-11-26)

Bonjour!

It has been a busy week full of changes! Leaving Ottawa was so hard and it is a place I will never forget! Between the companions I had there, the friends I taught, and the amazing Riverside ward I served in, I met people I will love forever! I definitely left a piece of my heart there! Now I'm in Montréal and it's a lot of fun! Missionary work is totally different here than it was in Ottawa but I'm learning to adjust to taking the bus and metro everyday! There are so many people here from all over the world too! I seriously love public transportation because it make me feel more in the city and immersed!

Speaking of immersion, of course everyone here speaks French and sometimes it amazes me because French is beautiful and sometimes it is completely overwhelming because I have no idea what they're saying.

It has been a hard transition to go from teaching, finding, and connecting all the time in English to now not being able to do very much at all. Everyday I learn a little more and get a little more confident but I also know it is going to take time. Luckily the Hochelaga ward is awesome and one of the new members named Nik, who speaks French and English, has already given me so much help and I am so grateful!:)

My companion Sister Fitzner is amazing and it has been such a blessing to me to have someone so willing to show me around and help me with the language.

Everyday I wake up feeling kinda terrified for the next day of unknowns and the language barrier but then everynight I lay in bed and feel so grateful that I was able to do it! Heavenly Father provides the way every single day! He is my strength and with Him I know I can do what He needs me to do here and say what He needs me to say!

1 Nephi 17:3

3 And thus we see that the commandments of God must be fulfilled. And if it so be that the children of men keep the commandments of God he doth nourish them, and strengthen them, and provide means whereby they can accomplish the thing which he has commanded them...

Heavenly Father will always provide a way! We just have to trust that His way is better than ours. I've come to see that He not only know what's best but He knows me the best and is giving me experiences everyday thay deepen my trust in Him! I hope you have an amazing week! Love you all!
